How the practice works

A mock interview lets you practice truthful answers and follow-up questions. Choose a role and connect your explanation to evidence rather than generic claims about being hardworking.

Choose a situation that is meaningful but manageable. Attempt the response yourself, then use feedback to change something specific. A polished generated script is not evidence that you can handle a follow-up question.

A worked example

Illustrative situation

An interviewer asks why they should consider a graduate with little employment experience.

Attempt / response / reflection

Interviewer

Why should we consider you when you have no work experience?

First attempt

I know AI and I am hardworking.

More useful answer

I am early in my career. I built a sample enquiry tracker and documented its tests. I can show how I handled duplicates and missing information.

Follow-up

What did you do yourself?

Honest answer

AI helped generate parts of the code. I defined the fields, checked the workflow, tested the outputs and wrote the limitations. I still need guidance on production security.

This is a scripted explanation of the learning mechanism—not a live AI conversation, actual learner transcript or validated assessment.

Your practice sequence

  1. Research the role and identify relevant tasks.
  2. Prepare a project you can explain, including your own contribution.
  3. Attempt an answer before asking for a model response.
  4. Answer follow-up questions about choices, tests and limitations.
  5. Review where you were vague or exaggerated.
  6. Practice a second answer and choose one gap to work on.

Evidence and next application

Honest introduction, specific example, reflection on follow-ups and a next practice task.

General, technical, behavioural, HR and sales practice can connect to the role you are exploring.

Debrief the attempt

  • What did you clarify rather than assume?
  • What changed after the other side responded?
  • Which part of your answer can you support?
  • What will you practice differently next time?

Interview practice does not guarantee hiring or salary. Employers determine their requirements.
