Learn to give AI a job it can understand.
Prompt practice connects language with judgement. A stronger request defines the task and the facts, then checks the output instead of treating confidence as accuracy.

How the practice works
Prompt practice connects language with judgement. A stronger request defines the task and the facts, then checks the output instead of treating confidence as accuracy.
Choose a situation that is meaningful but manageable. Attempt the response yourself, then use feedback to change something specific. A polished generated script is not evidence that you can handle a follow-up question.
A worked example
Illustrative situation
A shop wants a WhatsApp follow-up but the first generated draft invents a discount.
Attempt / response / reflection
Write a sales message.
The answer invents a discount, deadline and product benefit.
Draft a polite follow-up for a fictional customer asking about this product. Do not invent discounts, availability or claims. Ask whether they need specifications or delivery details.
Check the draft against the product information and remove assumptions.
More text is not automatically a better prompt. Relevant context and clear boundaries matter.
This is a scripted explanation of the learning mechanism—not a live AI conversation, actual learner transcript or validated assessment.
Your practice sequence
- Write a simple request and identify the missing context.
- Add the intended reader, factual offer and required tone.
- State what must not be invented or promised.
- Ask for a structured draft and check each factual claim.
- Edit it for the actual customer and explain your changes.
- Compare prompts to identify what improved the output.
Evidence and next application
Prompt versions, checked output and a list of rejected assumptions.
Use it for teaching resources, reports, customer messages, research organisation and development briefs.
Debrief the attempt
- What did you clarify rather than assume?
- What changed after the other side responded?
- Which part of your answer can you support?
- What will you practice differently next time?
