The problem to understand

A founder has an app idea but has not checked whether the intended customer experiences the problem or wants the proposed solution.

Start by identifying who performs the task, what happens now and where the difficulty occurs. Do not begin by promising an AI system. A small change should address a real need and have a way to be reviewed.

What the learner practices

Bounded practice brief

Prepare a one-page problem brief and a simple clickable or working prototype for one core task.

  1. Name the user and write the problem without starting with the technology.
  2. Prepare neutral discovery questions and mark assumptions.
  3. Research permitted sources and separate evidence from guesses.
  4. Define a minimum test with one user journey and clear acceptance checks.
  5. Build a small prototype and rehearse a concise pitch with limitations.

Why would I change from my current process?

Founder

I want to understand what is difficult in your current process first. This sample addresses one step; your feedback will help us decide whether it is worth developing.

The conversation is part of the capability. Practice asking, explaining and responding rather than only creating an output for someone else to interpret.

What to show and check

Work sample: Problem brief, interview guide, lean plan, prototype and test notes.

Review questions

Does the pitch identify the user and problem? Can the core task be demonstrated? Which assumption should be tested next?

Keep suitable source notes, test results and a clear explanation of your contribution. Mark fictional data and AI assistance. A work sample should show the decisions behind the output as well as its appearance.

Potential next upgrade

After validating the problem, plan account access, data storage, integrations, operating costs and support. AI can accelerate prototyping; it does not validate customer demand.

Before a live pilot, agree who owns the process, what data may be used, who reviews failures and what support costs apply. Learning access is free; production tools, APIs, hosting and specialist review may have separate costs.

An AI-generated plan does not establish demand, investment or viability.

Thinking about enrolling?

Make this your starting point.

Start with this practical goal: Problem brief, interview guide, lean plan, prototype and test notes. This is a suggested learning goal, not a promised enrollment outcome.

1. Bring a real question

Describe what you want to improve and what you have already tried. Use fictional or anonymised examples, not private client, student or workplace records.

2. Try the learning experience

Explore the demo. Start with AI foundations if the tools are new to you, then look for a relevant exercise, role-play or practice format. Check the activity on your device.

3. Register and choose a next step

Use the registration page to review the current intake and requirements. Plan time to attempt, check and improve your work. Confirm any coaching or access support you need.

Learner access is 100% free. External tools, data, devices or production services may have separate costs. Learning does not guarantee a job, customers, income or funding. For younger learners, check age eligibility and parent or guardian requirements.
